Rainy Days Ahead For Southern New Jersey

It will be very wet on Tuesday and Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania.

TONIGHT - Rain may become moderate to locally heavy at times late tonight, which could lead to poor drainage flooding. High near 51. Winds will be from the southeast at 9 to 14 miles per hour, kicking up to 16 to 21 miles per hour after midnight. Between half and inch and 3/4 of an inch are possible.

TUESDAY - The threat of poor drainage flooding will continue. Rain, possibly a thunderstorm are possible early in the morning, followed by showers during the day. Expect a high of 69 degrees. Winds will be from the southwest at 15 to 21 miles per hour.

TUESDAY NIGHT - Mostly cloudy, low around 50 degrees, winds from the west at 10 miles per hour.

WEDNESDAY - We get a break. Sunny with a high of 62. But it will start to rain on Wednesday night, mostly after 4 am. Expect a low near 40 degrees

THURSDAY - Rain, with a high of 59 degrees. There is a potential for strong to severe thunderstorm. Locally damaging winds are the primary threat.

"The risk for flooding will increase with each successive rainfall event as soils become increasingly saturated and streams run higher," the NWS says. "There is still some uncertainty regarding the extend of the flooding, so please continue to monitor the latest forecasts."
