Rip Current Risk Moderate For Today, Cloudy Skies Prevail

Don't swim unless you can find a guarded beach, which are in short supply this early in the season.

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ The National Weather Service is calling for another cloudy day at the beach, with a moderate risk of rip currents.

That means if you can find a guarded beach on weekday this early in the season, you should always check with local beach patrols first. Swim within sight of a lifeguard and never swim alone or at night. It will be a chilly swim if you do, since the ocean water temperature is only 59 degrees.

The NWS suggests you always have a flotation device with you in the water.
