Seaside Heights Takes Top Spot In Ocean County's Favorite Beaches Contest
New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium announced 2017 "Best Beaches" results in Ocean, Monmouth, and Cape May counties .

And the winner is....Seaside Heights.
The New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium announced the official winners of this years "Favorite Beaches" vote in Ocean City today.
Ocean City was named the top overall champion beach in the state.

But the Consortium also announced the top beaches in four coastal counties, including Ocean, Monmouth , Atlantic and Cape May counties.
The survey was first created in 2008 and initially deemed “New Jersey’s Top Ten Beaches,” to help encourage stewardship and pride in the state’s beaches while promoting a little healthy and friendly competition between among the state's beach towns, according to the Consortium's website.

The Consortium decided in 2016 to expand the contest beyond the Top Ten and include towns from all four coastal counties.
Voting really started to heat-up in June 2017. So without further delay, here is the official breakdown for Ocean County.

- Seaside Heights
- Beach Haven
- Point Pleasant Beach
- Island Beach State Park
- Ship Bottom
