Strong Storms, Heavy Rain Possible Friday Night Before Clearing On Saturday

Partly sunny skies, cooler temperatures are predicted for Saturday.

The intense heat of the past few days will begin to dissipate with the arrival of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the southern Ocean County area, mostly before 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Some of the storms could produce gusty winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning.

Temperatures will drop to around 59 degrees. Expect west winds of 7 to 9 miles per hour, becoming northeast after midnight.
