“In many homes, there is an empty seat for one who is serving or a photograph of their loved one, who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” the historical society wrote in a Facebook post. “There is no better time to express our appreciation than during the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season. We hope you will join us at Bayville Cemetery on December 18th, to show our Veterans and their families that we will not forget.”

The historical society said they had identified nearly 100 veterans in the cemetery and are continuing to identify more locals that served their country.
