St. Patrick's Day Parades in Essex County
Bloomfield's Councilwoman-at-Large Peggy O'Boyle to Help Lead Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade this weekend.
It's one down and two to go for St. Patrick's Day parades in Essex County this month.
Nutley held its 35th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday and Patch got O'Plenty of pics of the festivities. The parade was sponsored by the Nutley Irish American Alliance.
Next up is the 62nd Annual West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade, which steps off at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 10. The parade commences at 66 Main St. and culminates at the intersection of Main Street, Eagle Rock Avenue, Mississippi Avenue and Harrison Avenue. This year's Grand Marshal will be N.J. Assemblyman John F. McKeon (D-27th). Deputy Grand Marshals are Barbara P. Hughes and Mike Merwin.

Finally, on Friday, March 15, the 78th Newark St. Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at 1 p.m. Starting at the Prudential Center, the parade will proceed to Gateway Center, NJPAC, Military Park, St. Patrick’s Pro-Cathedral, and Washington Park. Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Esq. will serve as Grand Marshal and Eileen P. Gilleece, Detective Sergeant First Class with the New Jersey State Police, will be this year's Deputy Grand Marshal.
Bloomfield Councilwoman-at-Large Peggy O'Boyle, a member of the Newark Parade Committee, will help lead the festivities.

Spectators can find reviewing stands at Mulberry and Clinton Streets, as well as Central Avenue and Washington Street.
