The Week Ahead: Government Meetings, School Budgets and More

Monday

Bloomfield's Township Council holds its regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the municipal building. They will discuss changing laws governing when barbershop can operate. Also, they will discuss an ordinance that would prohibit parking commercial vehicles on city streets between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. The full agenda is here. 

Tuesday

The Bloomfield School Board will hold an emergency meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the school administration building to discuss the Schools budget. The board last week voted down a proposed budget described as "armageddon" by the head of the district's teacher's union. The district received an increase in state aid per an announcement following the meeting, but the impact of $500,000 increase in state money is not yet clear. 

Bloomfield's Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 at the Dept. of Planning at 1 Municipal Plaza in Room 203. 

Thursday

Bloomfield's Zoning Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 at the Dept. of Zoning at 1 Municipal Plaza in Room 203. The agenda is online here.
