10 Questions With Marsha Luna-Grover From Mosquito Authority Of Brick

Marsha speaks with Patch about the most satisfying part of her job, preparing for Mosquito Awareness Week through July 1 and how Mosquito Authority of Brick distinguishes itself from the competition.

Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?

Luna-Grover: Mosquito Authority has been franchised since 2009. We have been providing our service to clients of Ocean and Monmouth County since 2013.


Patch: What attracted you to the business you’re in, and how did you get started?

Luna-Grover: We utilized the service from a neighboring franchise and loved the results we obtained. I personally am allergic to mosquito bites and get extraordinary swelling and itching once bitten.

Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission to a stranger in five words, what would those words be?

Luna-Grover: Responsible, passionate, innovative, above and beyond.


Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?

Luna-Grover: Explaining that services offered by different mosquito companies are not all the same. We do not speak poorly of competitors. We understand that there is a very competitive market in this industry currently. However, this market is not new to us and we only speak to what Mosquito Authority does and what allows us to stay ahead within our industry.


Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?

Luna-Grover: Helping someone regain their outdoor living area and knowing that I am doing my part in helping educate the communities we service on the dangers of vector-borne diseases and the ways our clients can help themselves.


Patch: You’re not the only person in this business. How do you distinguish yourself from the others?

Luna-Grover: Our clients are not a job to us. We take pride in getting to know our clients, their families, living areas and identifying with their needs. Each family and home can present its own unique challenge.


Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?

Luna-Grover: Always give back. We take pride in giving back to the communities in which we service. We are proud Chamber members, team sponsors, school participants and try to give back to the causes that our important to our clients and our communities.


Patch: What would you say are a few secrets to your success?

Luna-Grover: There is no secret when it comes to sincerity. We strive to be the best at what we do. I have dedicated staff for which I am grateful, and their hard work makes it all possible.


Patch: What is your favorite thing about the Patch?

Luna-Grover: Community connection and outreach.


Patch: Do you have any events coming up in your community? If so, tell us about them!

Luna-Grover: We will be at Jenkinson’s Board Walk on Thursdays, June 29 and on Aug. 3 from 4 to 7 p.m., Red Bank Festival on Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Festival By The Sea in Point Pleasant on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Stop by, say hello, and let us answer any questions you may have regarding how you can regain your outdoor living space.
