Princeton Avenue Flooded In Brick; Drivers Urged To Move Vehicles

Lingering effects from Tuesday's nor'easter, high tide and an oncoming storm are causing flooding on low-lying roads, officials said.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police are urging motorists to avoid Princeton Avenue on Thursday afternoon due to flooding.

Additionally, residents on the barrier island or who live in low-lying areas along Barnegat Bay are being urged to move their vehicles to higher ground ahead of high tide.

Brick Township police issued a Nixle alert Thursday afternoon saying Princeton Avenue had flooded in the area of 5th Street.

Police also said floodprone areas in particular are at risk from the nor'easter that moved through the area earlier this week and the oncoming storm.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Department issued alerts Thursday afternoon that said flooding already was happening in several areas, including Bay Head.

High tide is forecast to be at 6:12 p.m. Brick police said parking is available at the township's parks.
