Brick Restaurant Closing For 2 Days Over COVID-19 Concerns

BRICK, NJ — As a surge of coronavirus cases fueled by the omicron variant has sparked long lines at urgent care facilities and made tests for the virus scarce, a Brick Township restaurant has decided to shut for two days out of an abundance of caution.

The River Rock Restaurant and Marina Bar announced Sunday evening that it will be closed Monday and Tuesday to do a deep cleaning of the restaurant, and will make announcements Tuesday about the rest of the week, including New Year's Eve.

The restaurant posted the closure in a notice on its Facebook page:

"The management of River Rock has decided to close the restaurant and bar on December 27th nd 28th as we monitor the highly contagious Omicron variant of COVID 19," the post said. "The health and safety of our employees, patrons, and their families comes first and foremost. During this time we will be doing deep cleaning of our establishment."

The notice said the liquor store will remain open but masks and social distancing will be required of all customers.

"We will be sending out updates Tuesday evening about the remainder of the week and New Year's Eve. Thank you for your understanding during these difficult and unusual times and most importantly, please remain safe," the notice said.
