Brick Sets Free Rabies Clinic For Dogs, Cats, Issues License Reminder

Registration is required for the rabies vaccination clinic.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township has scheduled its annual rabies vaccination clinic for Sunday, Jan. 22, so dog and cat owners can make sure their pets are up to date before renewing their licenses for 2023.

The vaccinations are free and the clinic is open to residents of Ocean County, but there is a limited number available and you must register.

Registration for the clinic will be held online and begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9. Time slots will be given on first-come, first-served basis. The registration link will be posted on the Brick Township website on Monday.

The clinic is set for 10 a.m. to noon at Drum Point Sports Complex. All animals must be on a leash and accompanied by an adult.

Brick Township residents will be able to pay for their pets' licenses at the clinic. Payment by check only at the clinic, made payable to Township of Brick.

Licenses and tags will be mailed during the week after the rabies clinic, the township clerk's office said.

All dogs and cats that are 7 months old or older in Brick Township must be licensed. Pet licensing is in January annually.

Brick residents can apply for licenses by mail or do so in person at the Township Clerk's office at the municipal building, 401 Chambers Bridge Road. The Clerk's Office is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you are applying for the license by mail, include the required information, a check for the fees, and a stamped, self-addressed envelope for the license (or licenses) to be mailed to you.

Required information is the pet's name, age, breed, sex, proof of spaying or neutering (if applicable) along with the owner's name, address, and telephone number. Proof of rabies vaccination is required as well.

Payment at the clerk's office can be made by exact change, check or charge (no American Express).

Animals must have a current rabies vaccination good through at least November 2023 for a one-year license, or through November 2025 for a three-year license.

LICENSE FEES:

  • One year, spayed/neutered animal: $10
  • One year, non-spayed/neutered animal: $13
  • Three year, spayed/neutered animal: $26
  • Three year, non-spayed/neutered animal: $35

There is a late fee of $1 per month for any animal registered after Jan. 31 each year. (Example – February = $1 additional; March = $2 additional, etc.)
