Deer Surprises Shoppers During Visit To NJ Store: Video
Maybe it was shopping for Santa or maybe it wanted some deals, but a shopper caught the chaotic scene at Marshalls in Brick on video.
BRICK, NJ — Shoppers at Marshalls in Brick Township got a surprise on Friday when a white-tailed deer found itself inside the store and had to be helped to the exit.
Video of the incident posted to TikTok shows a woman who appears to be a customer guiding the deer to the doors and out of the store at the Brick Commons shopping center, on the corner of Route 70 and Chambers Bridge Road.
The user who posted the TikTok, David @latinowithabuzzcut, did not immediately respond to a message seeking additional information. He said he was at the store to shop for new clothing when the incident happened. He said the deer was a male, though it was difficult to tell from the angle of the video, which had 3.2 million views by Tuesday.

"Heaven forbid a deer wants some holiday deals," one commenter wrote.

"She heard they had that tiffany purse," another said.
"His friends are NEVER going to believe him," another wrote.
"He was shopping for Santa," another commenter wrote.
"Did they get it to sign up for a TJX card?" another wrote.
It's not clear what happened to the deer after it was outside the store, which backs up to a small wooded area.
It's also unclear how long the deer had been in the store before the woman intervened to guide it outside. Commenters noted the store's doors have motion sensors and that was likely how it got into the store in the first place.
A manager at the Marshalls in Brick laughed when asked about the incident but said he could not comment on the matter and referred questions to the company's corporate office.
"We can confirm that a deer entered and safely exited our Brick Township Marshalls store on Friday, December 5," a spokesman for TJX, the parent company of Marshalls, said in an email on Tuesday afternoon. "Beyond that, we wouldn’t have anything to add to your story."
