Celebrate Brick Township's Founding At Town's Birthday Party
There will be cake and goodie bags and lots of fun for kids as the town marks 174 years since its founding.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township residents are invited to help celebrate the 174th anniversary of the town's founding at the Brick Birthday Bash.
The event is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Brick Township Civic Center, 270 Chambers Bridge Road.
The party is hosted by the Mayor's Student Advisory Committee and is geared to the younger residents, but is open to the entire community.

Mayor Lisa Crate said attendees will be able to decorate their own cupcakes, make friendship bracelets and enjoy cotton candy. There will be coloring pages and games, and hand- and face-painting, she said, along with goodie bags and cake.
The Garden State Arts Council, the Brick MUA, the Brick Historical Society, the Brick Township Fire Safety Bureau, the police department, the Brick Garden Club, the township's Environmental Commission, Monmouth Computers and the Ocean County Library all will have displays and representatives at the event.

The Mayor’s Student Advisory Committee is comprised of students from Brick Township and Brick Memorial high schools. The party was started in 2016 after an elementary school student made the suggestion.
"It really is a community event put together by members of our community," Crate said.
