BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police and officials unveiled a new monument in front of the municipal building on Tuesday honoring township police officers who have died while serving the township.

The monument — a uniformed Brick Township police officer giving a salute — was an eight-year project of the Brick Police Benevolent Association No. 230 that started fundraising in 2016, officials said.

The ceremony on Tuesday included family members of five officers whose names were the first inscribed at the monument.
