Robo-Recycling On Track for April Debut

Township still waiting on trucks to come on

Don't use those big, blue recycling cans just yet!

Township officials have nearly finished distributing automated recycling cans to residents, but the trucks which will eventually lift them off the curb are still on their way, officials said this week.

Councilman Jim Fozman said four of the eight trucks ordered are due to arrive April 19, with the remaining four due to be delivered May 17.

Fozman said collections will likely begin after the first four trucks are delivered.

Councilwoman Susan Lydecker said the township will notify residents once the new cans can be used by way of a robo-call to residents. The township will also put the word out on Facebook.

In other Public Works news, Fozman advised residents who see pot holes on township roads to call 732-451-4060 to report them so crews can patch them up. Residents may call the same number to request non-Sandy bulk pickup of refuse.
