BRANCHBURG, NJ — Two wrestling bucks with entangled antlers were rescued by Branchburg Officer Daniel Soffer on Tuesday. (See video below)
At around 12:25 p.m., Branchburg Police were called to investigate a report of "two suspicious individuals head-butting each other" in the area of Princeton Court, said police.
Police found the "two very disgruntled deer whose antlers had become hopelessly tangled, presumably after a heated debate over territory, a beautiful doe, or which one had more points."

Soffer sprang into action and, "with a combination of gentle maneuvering, impeccable timing, and the kind of patience usually reserved for assembling IKEA furniture," the officer successfully separated the two bucks.
As Soffer freed the bucks, he could be heard in the bodycam video saying, "We're freeeeeeeee!"
