“This family-focused race is a fun tradition in Somerville and we are pleased to see it grow each year,” said Sarah Nathans, executive director of Somerville YMCA. “We are proud to host a community event that brings people of all ages together in a festive event that encourages exerciseand promotes healthy living.”

Prizes will be given for costumes, while runners also will be invited to grab a ghostly a Halloween decoration at stations along the course in a hunt for a winning number and prize.

In addition to Verve, race sponsors include Bridgewater Nissan, Affinity Credit Union, Fleischer and Fleischer Attorneys, Wegmans, Lasered Effects, Road ID and All American T Shirt Printers.

“We are grateful to our many volunteers, who help to ensure the race runs smoothly, and our sponsors, who are committed to making a difference in the community by supporting our cause,” said David M. Carcieri, president and CEO of Somerset County YMCA.
