A shooting on Tuesday night in Somerset County left one teen in the hospital.

Somerset County authorities are investigating a Tuesday night shooting, which left one teen in the hospital.
Franklin Township Police responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of Sidney Place near Hamilton Street at approximately 9:26 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. Responding officers found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his midsection. He was taken to an area hospital, where authorities say he is in stable condition.
The victim reportedly told detectives at the hospital that an unknown male fired a weapon toward him and two friends of his three times, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. The victim said the shooter fled on foot with another unknown male. The victim’s two friends were unable to provide further information, authorities said.

Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Squad and the Forensics Unit responded to assist Franklin Township detectives investigate the shooting.
