Bridgewater Commons Alleged Robber to Stand New Trial

Davon Cody was convicted of the 2008 attack of a teenage girl in the mall's parking lot.

A Bridgewater man convicted of a 2008 robbery outside Bridgwater Commons Mall has been ordered to stand a new trial by a state appeals court, which overturned an earlier conviction on Friday.

Appellate judges ruled that Davon Cody, 23, was wrongfully convicted during his 2010 trial because the presiding judge misguided the jury, as reported by NJ.com.

Cody has been serving a nine-year sentence for allegedly attacking a 17-year-old girl in the mall's parking lot and stealing her purse in August 2008.
