Firefighters Battle Brush Fire Near Train Tracks, Route 202 In Bridgewater
The fire caused delays to the Raritan Valley Train Line on Monday.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Volunteer firefighters battled a brush fire near NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Train Line and Route 202 on Monday.
The fire was first reported near the Goldman Sachs building across from Wegmans around 4:10 p.m. off Route 202.
Bradley Gardens Volunteer Fire Company were met with a working brush fire with power lines down.

Firefighters with the help of New Jersey Forestry Service back-burned towards the main body of fire in order to stop the spread, said the fire department.
Once the power was cut, firefighters were able to extinguish the remaining pockets of fire.

"Special thank you to North Branch Fire for responding and assisting with containment and extinguishment, Raritan and Green Knoll Fire for covering and responding to other calls in the area, and Bradley Gardens Rescue for providing rehab services on scene. Great work!" said the fire department.
As a result of the fire, there were delays to the Raritan Valley Line train.
