Complaint Filed Against Bridgewater Man After Fatal Sept. Crash

A criminal complaint has been filed against Bridgewater man in connection with a fatal car crash that happened in September.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – A criminal complaint has been filed against Bridgewater man in connection with a fatal car crash that happened in September.

Somerset County Prosecutor Michael Robertson announced Tuesday the complaint was filed Monday against Kevin D. Betyeman, 56 of Maple Street, Bridgewater.

According to allegations in the criminal complaint, Betyeman was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado on Old York Road around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 when his car struck and killed Celeste Andresen, 60 of San Manuel, Arizona. Andresen was crossing Old York Road near Woodmere Street in a crosswalk when she was struck.

The complain alleges Betyeman's blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit several hours after the collision and he denied having consumed alcohol when asked by police at the scene.

Betyeman was previously charged by Raritan Borough Police with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving and failing t yield to a pedestrian.
