Congressman Lance Celebrates Pope Francis's Address to Congress

According to the Office of Congressman Leonard Lance:

U.S. Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today joined his congressional colleagues and welcomed Pope Francis to the United States Capitol, where he became the first Pope to ever address a joint meeting of Congress.

After the Pope’s visit, Lance issued the following statement:

“It was an honor to be present as Pope Francis addressed a Joint Meeting of Congress, the first Pontiff in history to do so. His words of compassion, unity and humility undoubtedly touched the hearts of peoples of all faiths and ideologies around the world.

It was an inspiring and emotional morning to witness His Holiness deliver such an uplifting message.”
