Defiant Trespassing, Theft, DWI: Princeton PD Logs

Here's a look at what Princeton police have been up to in the past couple weeks.

PRINCETON, NJ —Princeton police arrested a UK man for defiant trespassing, arrested a few people on DWI charges, received multiple attempted theft calls and more over the past weeks.

Sunday, June 30

Defiant Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct

Around 1:20 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of Nassau Street for the second time on a disturbance call. They found a 31-year-old man from the United Kingdom who they say was aggressively confronting an Ivy Inn employee. Police say the UK man was earlier warned not to return to the inn or he would be arrested on defiant trespassing and disorderly conduct charges. He was arrested and released with a court date.

Obstructing Law, DWI

Around 9:40 p.m. police stopped a car on Washington Road for speeding and failure to keep right. Police subsequently arrested the passenger for obstructing administration of law and released her with a court date. They also arrested the driver for DWI. He was processed at headquarters and released.

Wednesday, July 3

Active Warrant

Around 9:10 p.m. police ran a plate on Mercer Road and found the owner, a 21-year-old Trenton man on two active warrants out of Hamilton totaling $1,050. He was transported to headquarters and transferred to Hamilton police.

Attempted Theft

Around 10:50 a.m. on June 20, an unknown person got access to a legitimate email threat between the victim and a business partner, acting as an authorized rep of a company. They told the victim to deposit $19,558 into an overseas account, or a Trenton Wells Fargo. The victim did not transfer funds.

Thursday, July 4

Theft

Around 1:45 p.m., a victim reported that between June 23 and July 4, his credit card and about $100 in cash was stolen from his home on the 700 block of Mt. Lucas Road. The thief then used the stolen credit card to make purchases in Princeton and in Milford, Connecticut, for about $1,200.

Friday, July 5

Theft by Deception

Around 7:30 p.m., a victim claimed she gave an unknown actor access to her computer after the actor told her they were with a computer security company. The actor attempted to gain access to the victim's online banking account.

Saturday, July 6

Shoplifting

Around 11 a.m., police arrested a 49-year-old woman from Romania on charges of shoplifting at the Princeton University store. The estimated value of items stolen was $409.

Sunday, July 7

DWI

Around 2:15 a.m., police pulled over a 31-year-old from Edison for failure to keep right on Stockton Street and subsequently arrested them for DWI.

Theft

Around 7:30 (a.m. or p.m. unspecified), a victim reported her son's bicycle was taken from behind the Princeton Public Library sometime between Monday, June 24, and Sunday, July 7.

Monday, July 8

Criminal Mischief

Around 11:30 a.m., a caller reported there was graffiti sprayed on the walls of the Princeton Shopping Center at 301 North Harrison St., causing about $300 in damage.
