Annual 'Holiday Jubilee' Returns To Downtown Somerville

SOMERVILLE, NJ — The Downtown Somerville Alliance announced the return of their annual Holiday Jubilee. The event will take place on Friday, Dec. 1 beginning at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a variety of performances and activities in the district.

"The Holiday Jubilee is one of our most exciting events of the year," said Natalie Pineiro, Downtown Managing Consultant of the Downtown Somerville Alliance. "There is nothing quite like celebrating the spirit of the season right here, where the unique history and charm of Somerville create a magical backdrop to celebrate the Holidays with family, friends and neighbors."

This year’s festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. at the courthouse lawn where community members and visitors will be able to enjoy a holiday vendor village, music by Base Entertainment and free ice skating on an artificial ice rink.

Ongoing live entertainment will take place on the main stage on Division Street featuring a local performing arts showcase, a performance from the Princeton University Tigertones, a tap-dancing segment by the Foreman Brothers (featured on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"), carolers, and a visit from Santa himself.

Following Santa's arrival and the holiday tree lighting, the holiday fun continues with free carriage rides, photos with Santa, hot cocoa and cookies, holiday crafts and more.

The Holiday Jubilee is a free community event sponsored by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, Somerset County Tourism, New Jersey American Water and the Downtown Somerville Alliance; and is supported by the County of Somerset, the Borough of Somerville, the Somerville Police Department, and the Somerville Fire Department.
