Ellie's Academy Is 'Not Just A Daycare, It Is A Second Home'

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Amy Wierzbinsky of Bridgewater, who nominated her son's daycare Ellie's Academy of Somerville:

Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:
Yes

What does the nominee do for work?:
Daycare center employees / director

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
My sons daycare director and employees are HEROS!! From the day this started every one of them said they will not close the center down because the essential workers need childcare! The director then opened the facility up to any child of an essential employee that need care while the parent went to work! That's a selfless act and they need to be recognized! I absolutely LOVE them for this and everyday because they take amazing care of my 2 year old son and I go to work at ease knowing he is safe and in the BEST hands!

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
I want everyone to know that Ellie's Academy is not just a daycare it is a second home and a second family! They are absolutely the best people you'll ever find and take amazing care of the children enrolled in the center not just during these difficult times but EVERYDAY.
