'Emma Is A Shining Star': Bridgewater Star Student

We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts, or volunteer service. Here's one local who is making an impact in Bridgewater.

(Sandy Osborn)

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Sandy Osborn who nominated her daughter Emma of Bridgewater, a Freshman at Raritan Valley Community College.

How do you know the star local student?

Emma is my daughter.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Emma is a beautiful Christian young lady, inside and out. Aside from her grades and being a part of Phi Betta Kappa and The National Society of Leadership and success, she goes above and beyond for anyone in need. Emma is studying to be a Special Ed Teacher, she is a buddy for special needs children with her Church, and leads a small young adults group. Emma is handling full-time school, working, full-time church, and studies. She doesn’t ask for anything and she gives back everything she has. Emma is a shining star and she is my sunshine.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Emma saved my life, not once, but twice!

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future,Emma Freshman Raritan Valley Community College!
