Former BOE Member Thanks Community for Support

Cindy Cullen did not get re-elected for a new term.

  • Better communications—Powerschool (parents can track student progress on a daily basis), teacher websites (homework assignments available), improved district website, audio recordings of BOE meeting on the Internet and use of eBlasts (emails to the parents)
  • Improved math and language arts curricula
  • Expansion of ability to obtain high school credit for work and courses taken at other facilities including colleges
  • Special education—expanded staffing and enhanced programs including more in-district programs
  • AP/honors/AI programs—expanded to meet the needs of more students both in the number of students taking courses and expansion of courses at middle and high school
  • Two new turf sports fields at the high school with no BOE funding.

Thank you to everyone who supported me over the years. I consider it a highlight of my life to have had the opportunity to serve the community via the BOE.

If you have an interest in public service, consider BRRSD and the BOE. There are opportunities to be involved at the schools, on district committees and three seats are up for election every year.
