Update On Missing Bridgewater 13-Year-Old Teen

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A missing 13-year-old girl has been safely located, said Bridgewater Police on Tuesday night.

At around 8:10 p.m., Simone Papasavas was safely located in Queens, New York. She has been reunited with her family, said Bridgewater Township Police.

"I would like to thank everyone for their assistance, support, and prayers during this investigation. The successful outcome of this case was made possible through the expertise and professionalism of our law enforcement partners," said Chief John Mitzak.

Mitzak went on to thank the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, the New Jersey State Police, the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, and the New York State Police.

"Their collaborative efforts were instrumental in ensuring the safe recovery of this child," said Mitzak.

Bridgewater Mayor Moench would like to thank all of the officers who participated in the recovery of Simone.

"We are grateful for the outpouring of support from our community and remain committed to working together to protect and serve our residents," said Mitzak.

Simone Papasavas, a 13-year-old girl, described as white, 5-foot-4-inches tall, weighing 185 pounds, had been missing since around 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday from Rosewood Court.
