New Party Store Featuring Custom Balloon Designs Opens In Somerset County

SOMERVILLE, NJ — There's a new party shop in town.

The Party Shop opened on Friday at 936 Route 22 East in Somerville, on the border of Bridgewater.

After the closure of Party City, owners Patrick Cyrana and Josh Nazario saw a need to fill the balloon and party supply void.

They previously opened The Party Shop's first location in Springfield on Route 22 in 2019. Now they are expanding into Somerset County.

"A lot of people are struggling with getting balloons. And the dollar stores and Five Below, they have balloons, but just not the variety we have," said Nazario, who will be running the Somerville location. "We have a whole 100-foot wall full of just balloons that you can pick from."

Along with helium bouquets, The Party Shop does so much more like a balloon artist would. Cyrana's wife Lori, who is a Bridgewater-Raritan graduate, is the balloon artist who comes up with custom displays for any occasion.

"We can do installs and number stacks and number marquees and organic balloon garlands. We can do a garland that someone can pick up from the store and install themselves, or we can go and install it for them," said Cyrana.

Nazario noted that the delivery of the balloons is "big" for customers.

"A lot of people can't fit the balloons in their car or they don't want to deal with balloons popping on them," said Nazario.

Additionally, they offer backdrops that they make and rent. They also have 4-foot wooden marquee letters and numbers, tents, tables, chairs, and bounce houses available for rent as well.

Overall, the Party Shop is striving to be a one-stop shop to help make customers' celebrations extra special.
