Police Need Your Help: Two Armed-Robberies Investigated In Somerset County
The suspect is believed to be the same individual responsible for both convenience store robberies.

Area detectives are investigating two armed robberies that occurred yesterday in the Somerset section of Franklin Township. According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, the robberies occurred on July 14 within about 10 hours of each other.
Robbery #1
- Around 12 a.m. Franklin Township Police responded to a robbery alarm at the 6Ten Convenience Store and Deli, on Hamilton Street.
- A store employee told officers that she was robbed at gunpoint by a white male assailant.
- The suspect fled from the store with an undisclosed amount of currency and cigarettes.
- The suspect was last observed fleeing on foot towards the Exxon Tiger Mart located on Franklin Boulevard and Hamilton Street.

- At 9:46 p.m. Franklin Township Police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting an armed robbery at the D-Mart Convenience Store, located on Somerset Street.
- Responding officers made contact with an employee who stated that he was robbed at gunpoint by a white male assailant.
- The suspect fled from the store with an undisclosed amount of currency and cigarettes.
- The suspect was last observed fleeing on foot in the direction of Route 27 and Matilda Avenue.
The suspect is believed to be the same individual responsible for both convenience store robberies.
Detectives have released the following description of the suspect:

- White male
- Approximate age - late 20’s to mid 30’s
- Approximately 5’10” to 6” in height
- Dark hair
- Wearing a baseball cap and a scarf that was covering his face
- Dark pants with white lettering on right leg
- Long sleeve dark jacket with a grey stripe down the arm
- Armed with a handgun
Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance. If anyone observed an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area at the time the robberies were committed they are asked to contact law enforcement authorities.
