Police Step Up Enforcement For New Traffic Patterns On First Avenue
Penalties include two points on your license and a fine of up to $200.

RARITAN, NJ — Police will be stepping up enforcement at intersections on First Avenue following the implementation of new traffic patterns.
Raritan Borough recently approved an ordinance prohibiting left turns from Fifth Street onto First Avenue and from Tillman Street onto First Avenue. Additionally, vehicles are also not allowed to cross the intersection.
Raritan Borough Police Department announced the new traffic patterns last week but noted that drivers are not abiding by the changes.

"With the addition of the new signage placed in the area, we've also placed our mobile traffic trailer in the area advising of the new traffic pattern," said police. "However, these advisements have not deterred people from making left turns."
As a result, Raritan Police said they will be stepping up enforcement in these areas.
