Muslim Woman Told to Remove Veil, Security Guard Lawsuits Hit Snag
The bankruptcy filing of one of the defendants has delayed proceedings.

Lawsuits involving a Bridgewater Commons security guard who asked a Muslim woman to remove her veil have been delayed because of a bankruptcy filing by the security provider.
Both the guard, who has borderline intellectual functioning, and the woman he asked to remove her head covering in May 2012 citing the mall's "anti-mask" policy, had filed suits against the mall owner and IPC Security, reported NJ.com.
IPC Security, the vendor that provided security services, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in in August leaving both suits "up in the air," according to the guard's attorney.
The woman, Wakeelah Salaam, of Elizabeth, was allegedly approached by mall security guard Mark Krause twice in May 2012 and told to remove the veil. The mall later apologized for the incident and released a statement saying that the mall encourages "shoppers of all diversities" to visit.
