Somerset County Parks Announces Exhibit at Leonard J. Buck Garden

"Why Do Leave Why Do Leaves Change Color?" will be on display beginning October 3.

FAR HILLS, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Leonard J. Buck Garden has scheduled a fall exhibit, “Why Do Leaves Change Color,” on display from Monday, October 3, 2016 through Sunday, October 16, 2016 in the Visitor’s Center 11 Layton Road in Far Hills, New Jersey. Hours are Monday to Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., and Sunday from12:00 Noon to 5:00 P.M.

Visitors will experience the colors of fall as the trees and shrubs undergo their annual transition while learning how and why the changes take place. The informative display is produced by the Somerset County Master Gardeners “MGKeepBuggingMe” team.

The exhibit is free with donations accepted. For information call Leonard J. Buck Garden at 908-234-2677, ext. 21 or NJ Relay 711 for individuals with a hearing or speech impairment.

Leonard J. Buck Garden is one of the premier rock gardens in the eastern United States consisting of a series of alpine and woodland garden areas situated in a 29-acre wooded stream valley.

Tucked among the rocks are rare and exotic rock garden plants. The wooded trails connecting the outcroppings are lined with beautiful wild flowers that have flourished and multiplied through the years. Throughout the garden grow various trees, shrubs, and perennials.
