Students Evacuated At Immaculata High School Due To Smoke Condition

Somerville Police and Somerville Fire were called to Immaculata High School on Monday morning.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Students at Immaculata High School were evacuated on Monday morning for a smoke condition, said Somerville Police Captain Anthony Brattole to Patch.

At 8:11 a.m., Somerville Police and Somerville Fire went to Immaculata High School for a smoke condition.

"Apparently, an air conditioning unit on the roof malfunctioned, which resulted in smoke being emitted into the building," said Brattole.

There was never an active fire, but students were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

There were no injuries and the students were able to return to class.
