BRIDGEWATER, NJ — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Kathy Sowden who is nominating the members of the Finderne Rescue Squad of Bridgewater.

Home town: Bridgewater

Hero's job: Fire/emergency response

Reason for recognition: During the height of COVID-19 these people volunteered to respond to the aid of COVID patients. To stay on and volunteer to be there for their community during this time speaks volumes to their characters.

One thing to know: They are there as volunteers risking their own health to serve while working their day jobs and caring for their families. Most times what they sacrifice goes unrecognized.

Thank you for all you do, Finderne Rescue Squad!
