What Your Student's School 'Uniform'?

Parents trying to outfit their kids for school this year may wish they were shopping for a student in China, instead: students there wear sharp school uniforms that look like running suits, according to a Mashable post on "20 School Uniforms From Around the World."

Of course, mention the word "uniform" to your teen and you'll get a prompt response—probably something along the lines of how clothing is an expression of personal choice.

But anyone who's been inside a school can quickly see U.S. students have uniforms os a sort—similar attire that identifies the social group they belong to. Athletes dress one way, "nerds" another and the kids who'd rather be somewhere else dress in black.

So where do you have to shop for your student's attire? Is your daughter in a Hollister Co. uniform or is she a Macy's maven? Does your son head first to Foot Locker or Sports Authority?

And would you prefer to see school's adopt uniforms—even if it's just specifying shirt and skirt/pants colors?
