Burglars Break Into Home, Steal Car In Chatham: Police

Police are asking residents in the community to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.

CHATHAM, NJ — Police are investigating after burglars broke into a home to get car keys and stole a vehicle parked in the driveway in Chatham Borough on Tuesday morning.

On Dec. 19, at approximately 2:25 a.m., burglars forced entry into a home on Walnut Street by breaking through a window on the first floor.

Chatham Borough police said that the burglars went into the home searching for vehicle keys, which were used to steal a 2021 Audi S5 parked in the driveway.

"Thankfully, no confrontation occurred," police said.

This incident remains under investigation by the Chatham Borough Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff's Office and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
