Chatham Home Burglarized While Residents Slept
The thief entered through an unlocked sliding door, authorities said.
CHATHAM, NJ - Residents are cautioned to remain vigilant as a Chatham Borough home was burglarized early Monday morning.
At approximately 2:45 a.m., a thief (or thieves) entered an occupied residence on Broadview Terrace in Chatham Borough through an unlocked sliding door, police said.
The occupants of the home never encountered the suspect or suspects, but two handbags, a watch and cell phone were stolen, police said.

The two cars parked in the driveway were locked, and the keys secured so they were not taken, authorities noted.
Detective Andrew Chase from the Chatham Borough Police Department and Detective Juan Munoz from the Morris County Sheriff’s Department processed the scene and agencies from the surrounding towns were notified, police said.
