'Angels in America' to Kick Off Chatham Players' 92nd Season

Production runs Oct. 11-26.

The Chatham Players will begin its 92nd season with Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Angels in America, Part 1: Millennium Approaches, the group has announced.

Performances run Oct. 11-26 at the Chatham Playhouse.

The play's "scope is huge, covering the AIDS epidemic, America’s shift to the political right, as well as grand themes of faith, loss, and identity," The Chatham Players said in a a news release. "But at the same time it is heartbreakingly intimate, with indelible characters—gay and straight, black and white, Mormon and Jewish."

The cast includes Richard Colonna from Garwood as Roy Cohn, Scott Tyler from Morristown as Joe Pitt, Morgan Vasquez from Parsippany as Harper Pitt, Gus Ibranyi from Bloomfield as Prior Walter, Sal Navarro from West New York as Louis Ironson, Doug McLaughlin from Hillsborough as Belize, Rosemary Wall from Mountain Lakes as Hannah Pitt, Sarah Pharaon from Maplewood as The Angel, John Saul from Secaucus and Chip Prestera from Stirling as Ensemble.

Leading the artistic team is Director Bob Pridham, who is directing his 13th play at the Chatham Playhouse. Pridham is a writer, teacher and director, and, since 1975, has been the chair of Kent Place School’s award-winning theatre program.

Producer is Andrea Sickler, stage manager is Allie Warshaw, scenic designer is Chris Furlong, scenic painting by Andrea and Dean Sickler, costume designer is Bev Wand, lighting designer is Richard Hennessy and sound designer is Joe DeVico, production coordinator is Leslie Reagoso.

“This is a must see production for theater enthusiasts; the scenic elements, lighting, sound effects and costuming are all that we come to expect from this award winning NJ theater,” producer Andrea Sickler said.

Performance dates are October 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 8PM and October 20 at 3PM. All performances are at the Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Avenue, in Chatham.  Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for youth/senior.   Tickets can be purchased at our Box Office or Online. Chatham Playhouse’s box office will begin accepting phone reservations Oct. 1 at 973-635-7363.
