Chatham Trail Needs Volunteers September 10
Chatham Township Open Space Committee organizes trail-building project near Hillside Avenue.

Chatham is getting a new trail and the town needs a few good hands on deck.
On Saturday, September 10, Chatham volunteers are getting together to bring life to the plan for a trail along Hillside Avenue. It's a good opportunity to get involved with making the town more beautiful. The new trail, across the street from the Christmas Tree Farm, near an intersection surrounded by dense foliage, will give hikers, runners, and walkers, an opportunity to see what kind of fauna make a living amongst the trees.
The planned trail, a few hundred yards up from where Hillside Avenue meets River Road, will require volunteers to first lay branches outlining the figure-eight loop. Volunteers will also be covering the trail with woodchips, with the help of wheelbarrows.
