$41K Firehouse Roof Replacement To Be Voted On Monday At Chatham Meeting
Chatham Borough's council is planning to meet virtually on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
CHATHAM, NJ — The approval to award a contract replacing the firehouse roof and an update from the police department, are two agenda items for Chatham Borough's council meeting on Monday.
The Chatham Borough Council plans to meet virtually at 7:30 p.m.
Chatham Borough Police Chief Brian Gibbons is scheduled to provide a police department update during the meeting. Environmental Commission Chair Torri VanWie, is also expected to give an Environmental Commission Update, according to the meeting agenda.

One of the items up for approval is a resolution for a contract to replace the roof on the firehouse. The Department of Public Works received two quotes, one from Pfister Maintenance Inc. at $41,500, which was the lowest quote. The resolution, if adopted, will allow the mayor and borough clerk to contract with Pfister Maintenance for the roof replacement. More details are here.
The council will also take a vote to adopt vacating a paper street, Wellesley Street. The street was first mapped in 1924 and is not being used. The property will go back to the neighboring owners on either side of it. More information is here.

There are two resolutions up for vote and adoption for road resurfacing, one for Hillside Avenue at $17,200 and the other for Washington Avenue for $28,000. Both include contracts for Colliers Engineering and Design.
As Chatham Township had adopted at its meeting on Tuesday, Chatham Borough also has a resolution up for adoption to support the conservation of Drew Forest. The 53-acre tract faces the possibility of high density housing development. It is home to the Buried Valley Aquifer. More information about the borough’s resolution is here.
