The Library of the Chathams will hold a virtual lecture covering women's suffrage in New Jersey during the American Revolution era

CHATHAM, NJ—The Library of the Chathams will hold a virtual lecture covering women's suffrage in New Jersey during the American Revolution on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.

"When Women Lost the Vote: A Revolutionary Story, 1776-1807" will be presented by Tyler Putnam, Gallery Interpretation Manager at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia. The talk will focus on the little-known fact that for about thirty years during the Revolutionary War era, certain women had the right to vote in New Jersey.

"Putnam will explore this revolutionary moment in time and what it can tell us about the importance of suffrage and its protection today," said the library's announcement.
