CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police chased a speeding vehicle early Monday morning, as officers in Chatham Township also found unlocked vehicles that someone had opened, according to a police report.
Police said the vehicles left unlocked on Lafayette Avenue and Lenape Trail were opened around 4 a.m. on Monday. A police report said no suspect has been identified.
Chatham Township police reported that around the time they were investigating the opened and entered vehicles, they found another "suspicious vehicle" on Longwood Avenue. They said the driver of that vehicle fled, speeding. The report did not say how fast the driver was going, but that it was at "a high rate of speed."
