CHATHAM, NJ — The first night of Chanukah is around the corner on Nov. 28, with Menorah Lighting Ceremonies throughout Morris County for the “Festival of Lights.”

“The Menorah represents the light and strength that we need to overcome the challenges we encounter in our everyday lives,” said Rabbi Shalom Lubin, director of the Chabad Center, in a news release about the upcoming lightings. “Every person is like a candle, we each have the ability to brighten the world.”
The Chabad of SE Morris County, a Madison-based “Jewish outreach, educational and social service organization,” has planned multiple ceremonies, "with music, hot refreshments including the traditional foods - 'Latkes' or potato pancakes and 'sufganiot' or jelly donuts - and prizes for the children” among the lineups for each.
