1 Hospitalized After Collision With Cherry Hill Fire Truck On I-295
While responding to a separate incident on I-295 early Saturday morning, Rescue Ladder 13 was struck by a passing vehicle, officials said.
CHERRY HILL, NJ - A motorist was freed during an early morning crash with a fire truck on I-295 in Cherry Hill, fire officials said.
While responding to a separate accident early Saturday morning, Cherry Hill Fire Department’s Rescue Ladder 13 was struck by a passing vehicle, the Cherry Hill Fire Department said in a statement.
“The impact from the secondary accident left the motorist from the striking vehicle trapped, requiring extrication,” officials said.

Members of the fire department subsequently provided aid and use hydraulic rescue tools to free the motorist, who was then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment, officials said. No fire department members were injured in either incident.
“We would like to take this opportunity to remind motorists, when approaching emergency scenes to slow down and move over to keep emergency personnel safe,” officials added.

An update on the condition of the extricated motorist was not immediately available as of Saturday afternoon.
