Fatal South Jersey Hit-And-Run Under Investigation: Camden Prosecutor

A South Jersey man was identified as the victim of a Thursday hit-and-run crash in Lindenwold, authorities said.

LINDENWOLD, NJ - A South Jersey man was identified as the victim of a Thursday hit-and-run crash in Lindenwold, authorities said.

The hit-and-run occurred around 5:42 p.m. near the 600 block of South White Horse Pike, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Lindenwold Police Chief Michael P. McCarthy Jr. said in a joint statement.

The pedestrian, identified as Dal B. Baruwal, 53, of Somerdale, was treated at the scene by EMS and paramedics and was later transported to Jefferson-Stratford Hospital, MacAulay and McCarthy said. Baruwal was pronounced deceased at approximately 6:37 p.m.

Detectives are currently searching for a sedan with front-end damage and a dark-colored pickup truck of an unknown make and model.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
