Parents Had Heroin, Kid in Car When Arrested, Police Say

Police called in child protective services following a car stop Thursday.

A Burlington County couple had 10 bags of heroin in the car with their infant son when stopped on Route 38 Thursday, Cherry Hill Police said, and now face multiple charges.

John T. Reilley Jr., 40, and Jacqulin J. Reilley, 35, of Hanover Drive in Cookstown, were pulled over for driving with an expired registration, when officers found the heroin, as well as a straw used to snort the drug, police said.

Officers called in the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) because the couple had their child in the car, police said, and DCPP staff, who had an open case against the Reilleys, took custody of the child after the parents were arrested.
