MERCHANTVILLE, NJ — Robertito's Cuisine, a Puerto Rican restaurant in Merchantville, will relocate to a larger space in Pennsauken.

The restaurant's last day in Merchantville will be Saturday, according to owner Roberto Cruz Cotto.

"As bittersweet as it is to say goodbye to this space, we are beyond excited to grow into a larger home in Pennsauken," Cruz Cotto said in an announcement earlier this month.

He honed his skills after school at El Patriota — a Puerto Rican Creole restaurant where his friend was in charge. Puerto Rican Creole (cocina criolla) became Cruz Cotto's specialty.

Cruz Cotto's travels led him to New Jersey, where he worked in other professions and also ran a food stand. In late 2020, he opened Robertito's Cuisine in Merchantville.

The Merchantville restaurant is located at 177 S Center St.

Robertito's Cuisine will post social-media updates about the move, including a grand opening date.

The relocation announcement is available below in English and Spanish.
