Woman Charged In Deadly Thanksgiving Stabbing, Prosecutor Says

Laquanda Jones, 27, of Camden City, has been charged with murder in the deadly stabbing of a 55-year-old man.

CAMDEN, NJ - A South Jersey woman has been charged in the fatal stabbing of a 55-year-old man on Thanksgiving, authorities said.

Laquanda Jones, 27, of Camden City was charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of Bernie Marshall, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said in a joint statement.

She is currently lodged at the Camden County Correctional Facility.

At around 3:05 p.m., Camden County Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing on the 1300 block of Princess Avenue, McAulay and Rodriguez said. It was not immediately clear if the stabbing occurred inside a residence.

At the scene, Marshall was found unconscious and not breathing, authorities said. CPR was performed on Marshall by EMS; he was later transported to Cooper University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:33 p.m.

Jones was taken into police custody on Thursday following a joint investigation by detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and the Camden County Police Department.
