BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A Burlington County man has been indicted in connection with the fatal overdose of a woman he sold fentanyl to, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced.

Antoine Crawley, 35, of Pemberton Township, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree strict liability for drug-induced death, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and third-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

The indictment was returned June 24 and signed by Coffina. Crawley pled not guilty during an arraignment in Superior Court earlier this week. He is presently lodged in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly awaiting trial.

Danielle Knight, 42, of Wrightstown, has already pled guilty to first-degree strict liability for drug-induced death and is awaiting sentencing. She has been released on her own recognizance.

A 27-year-old Pemberton Township woman was found unconscious and unresponsive by her parents in the bathroom at the family’s home on Aug. 19, 2019, according to authorities. She was taken to Capital Health at Deborah – Emergency Services, where she was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy determined that she died of fentanyl toxicity. The fentanyl level in her system was more than five times the lethal dose, according to authorities.

Detectives determined that Knight instructed Crawley to deliver drugs to Wallace at her residence, authorities said.

Crawley was indicted in June in a separate case with two other people on drug possession charges, authorities said. In that incident, police found heroin and cocaine in their car when they stopped them early last year in New Hanover Township.

The case was investigated by detectives from the Pemberton Township Police Department, with assistance from the Prosecutor’s Office Gang, Gun and Narcotics Task Force and K-9 Officer Ringo from the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department. The lead investigator is Pemberton Township Detective Joshua Danka.
